Domino Sugar Refinery
Project
Domino Sugar Refinery,
Brooklyn, New York
Year
Finished 2023
Overview
The Domino Sugar Refinery in Brooklyn, once one of the largest sugar refineries in the United States, was a symbol of New York City’s industry for over a century.
After closing in 2004, the complex was transformed through a major urban regeneration project that preserved its historic brick façade and integrated it with a new, modern and sustainable building.
Today, thanks to a project led by Two Trees Management and PAU, the former industrial facility has been reborn as an innovative hub of offices and public spaces overlooking the East River, becoming a contemporary model of architectural reuse and urban waterfront enhancement.
