Overview
The Allianz Tower, designed by Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei, features one of the most advanced facades in the European office building landscape.
The building utilizes a double ventilated curtain wall, composed of floor-to-ceiling glass modules with low-emissivity selective glass and high-performance aluminum profiles. This system ensures excellent solar control, thermal and acoustic insulation, and maximum transparency, contributing to the tower’s high energy efficiency.
The cavity between the two layers of the envelope optimizes natural ventilation and improves seasonal thermal behavior, while the high-precision fastening systems ensure aesthetic continuity along the entire 209-meter height. The central core internal structure allows for office floors completely free from load-bearing constraints, enhanced by the full-length curtain wall, which offers bright and highly flexible spaces.
These elements make the Allianz Tower’s facade not only an iconic landmark of the Milan skyline, but also an example of engineering and technology applied to contemporary office architecture.
